Vehicles of Paris: Part 16

Earlier this month, I spotted these two over the top Lamborghinis parked on a side street next to the Hôtel de Crillon. So who drives one of these in Paris and leaves it on the street? Only someone who doesn't think twice about dropping 770 euros for a double room in low season or up to 8,220 for a suite at the pricier time of year. The continental breakfast alone will set you back 38 euros. The license plate confirmed my suspicions.

I wouldn't call the front of the Crillon "the street" ;-)

Oh and I always wondered how much it costs to stay there, thanks (not that I'd ever want to stay there, even if I could afford it).

These were parked on the side street, not on Place de la Concorde where there is always an army of bellmen. Still I think someone from the hotel was probably looking after them.

I know where they were parked (rue Boissy d'Anglas).
It may just be the safest street in Paris: access is controlled by policemen, cameras everywhere, you name it.
Don't forget that the Crillon is not the only thing there. There's also the US Embassy (and the British Embassy as well as the Elysée Palace are nearby).
You can leave your car unlocked there (if you're allowed to park it there), no problem.
:-)

Is it just me, or is the Lamborghini in the second picture, chrome? I mean, I know they're from Dubai, but that's just about as tacky, ostentatious and tasteless as one can get.

What in the world do those people do for a living to afford a car like that in Dubai? What is going on in Dubai these days anyway?

Oil... Lots of it...

(Starman, "tacky, ostentatious and tasteless" is indeed an excellent definition of Dubai)
